Daniel Harris is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Higher Education and Organizational Change (HEOC) program at UCLA. Daniel joins UCLA with three years of teaching experience, and as an alumnus of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans graduate internship program. He is currently a researcher for the Black Male Institute, the Choices Project, the Braid Institute, and Center X. His research interests includes intersections of race, financial literacy, campus climate, and the retention of students of color from kindergarten to graduate school. His dissertation research explores how variations in finances and financial literacy influence students’ experiences ability to persist in college.
